My Recipes: Breakfast Oats w/ Blueberries

Brighten up your day with a delicious bowl of whole rolled oats and a couple of other healthy ingredients. If you follow my Instagram stories (@chefbuano), you will probably notice my different oats recipe for breakfast.

If you think oatmeal for breakfast is boring, it’s time to think again. This morning meal gets an upgrade when you add fruits, almond milk and seeds. A couple of benefits for eating oats are the following: lower cholesterol, burns fat, high fiber content, folate and potassium.

Below is one of the oatmeal recipes I prepare every morning.

Total Prep Time: 10-15 minutes
Ingredients (all from Landers Superstore):

8 tablespoons whole rolled oats

1/2 cup almond milk

1/4 cup blueberries

1 tablespoon chia seeds

Procedure:

1. Thaw the blueberries (if frozen) or set aside fresh blueberries.
2. Cook the whole rolled oats with 1/2 cup of almond milk in a pan for about 3-5 minutes or based on the cooking instructions.
3. Transfer the above cooked oats with almond milk to a serving bowl. Leave the mixture to cool for 2-3 minutes.
4.Now add your blueberries and chia & flax seeds to the serving bowl with cooked Oats. Mix all the ingredients well.

You can be as creative as possible by replacing some of the ingredients to your preferred ingredients. From regular milk versus almond milk and adding your favorite fruits in season.
